Temple Feeds

is a photography work depicting the working life of people at Severn Project. Severn Projects is an urban gardening project supporting socially excluded individuals working on reclaimed disused land to grows vegetables.

The photographs were taken on the Temple Meads site next to Bristol’s main railway station and in Keynsham the first site that Severn Project has developed. The piece of land at Temple Meads although originally was part of open fields have suffered heavily during the industrial revolution with all the soil pollution one can imagine from oil mills, paint makers, tar and resin distillers. The soil is now have been decontaminated and with brand new soil imported now it grows lettuce for the people of Bristol.

For this work I didn’t only document the place and people but held a few introductory photography sessions to the participants and left them with disposable cameras offering a chance to show how do they feel, what do they think about they working life and their environment.

I believe we all had been learning from each other during the process and the final exhibition which will be held on the Bath Bridge in May is the result of this collaboration. Here you can see a small selection of the images.

Clifton Hill Costume &Textile

Chapter Two

I have been lucky to be able to document the story of one of Bristol's truly mesmerizing gems, the Clifton Hill Custom & Textiles Shop. After the unfortunate death of Gill Hodder, my good friend Jennifer Ford took over the running of the shop and has been working on it's regeneration for over a year.  She's cleaned and organised the fantastic array of stock while the building work took place.

The shop is now being filled with all the beautifull things cleaned and sorted.  It will reopen during the next week and will be launched in style with a celebratory event at Clifton House on the 18th of April.

To celebrate the opening of the shop, show off some fine outfits and display some most delightful curios, Clifton Hill Costume & Textiles is hosting an evening of glamour, fashion and fun. Featuring live tableaux with models in situ wearing amazing vintage outfits, music, stalls and a catwalk show.
You can buy tickets from http://jezebelevents.blogspot.co.uk/

For this project I have been photographing Severn Project an ambitious urban vegetable growing sceme.
These are my first impressions of the place and the winter growing.

I have been working together with the people on the site whom I gave disposable cameras and few instructions. The result is an exciting set of images wich are currently in the final stage of editing. More details and updates will follow soon.

Bristol Zombie Walk 2012 Teaser

I am very excited about editing the images I took yesterday during the Zombie Walk in Bristol. We had more sunshine on Saturday then during the whole summer so the event was a bit less apocaliptic but with a much more play ground spirit.

Here is one of my favourite photograph so far. The Rolling Zombies.

There is much more to come. I know many of you are very keen to see the pictures. I will be as fast as I can. Watch this space.
